ACTIN' FIGURE SITES

http://www.probotproductions.com/ActionFigureTheater.html
From their infamously animated Blue Snaggletooth movie to their Mork and Mindy/ Aliens crossover, these guys are what every Internet Actin' Figure director aspires to be. They have voice acting, special effects, and everything. Probot also earned the high honor of filming Hasbro's Official version of A New Hope in Action Figures.

It's Shakespeare performed with vending machine toys -- but it ain't your photoshop pipedream. This is real live theater!

http://www.actionfiguretheatre.co.uk/index.htm
Philip Lawrence's very professional Action Figure Theatre features customized figures, elaborate sets, and stylish comic book layout to tell original stories based on popular BBC sci-fi series Dr. Who and Sapphire & Steel. Mr. Lawrence sends word that he will soon be entering into the world of Star Wars action figure drama.

http://www.thecustomalliance.com/
The Custom Alliance hosts several series of so-called "photonovels" featuring customized action figures acting out Star Wars fanfic. Various authors.

It's like a morality play done in Legos. The author is a self-professed atheist who claims to be lampooning biblical narratives. Theological disagreements aside, I have to admit I respect the man's talent with plastic.

http://www.kid4life.com/yoda2/TheOuterRimShow.htm
ST-321 from Yodanews.com presents this action figure comic strip in which R2-D2 and C-3PO co-host a talk show with generous heapings of science-fiction humor.

http://www.kid4life.com/yoda2/BeyondtheOuterRimShow.htm
Having wrapped up his work on The Outer Rim Show, ST-321 from Yodanews.com has moved on to parody a reality show based on Darth Vader's domestic life.

Steve "Solo" Rensi recasts Han and Chewie as postal workers in a irreverent farce of pop culture and male wish-fulfillment.

http://www.itsalladream.com/figures.html
Weekly strips by an avid toy-collector and Star Trek fan with a Picard fetish. The whole toy chest comes out for this one.

http://www.coolcollecting.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=73
This site features a rather enlightening article on the world of "Action Figure Cinema," with particular attention to the classic "Covert Operations" movie.

http://www.alltroops.com/
The Online Collecting Tool site by the name of ALLTROOPS hosts two features that I would include among actin' figures: the single panel comic "A Little on the Dark Side" and "Mista_Carrot's Picture Gallery" (a set of pretty high quality cinematic stills featuring action figures spliced into movie scenes). Even more of Mr. Carrot's images are available at the artist's own page http://starwars.carrotnetwork.com/photos.html

Yodascorch
http://pic7.piczo.com/YODASCORCH/?g=1158133&cr=7

This site belongs to a bigtime Canadian collector that goes by the name of Yodascorch. He was a major player in the early days of Order 95 and eventually asked me to help him script a photocomic, The Dark Cave Chronicles. It's about Yoda going evil. He also does a lot of work with stop motion.

ACTION FIGURE SHOUTOUTS

http://www.rebelscum.com

A collector's news site of sorts run by the savvy Phillip Wise. Its archives prove a particularly indispensible tool when trying to figure out which little plastic blaster belongs with which bug-eyed alien.

http://www.creaturecantina.com
A twisted and often off-color humor along with an abuse of Adobe software makes every Wednesday night a little weirder. It's like the Onion, for Star Wars action figure geeks. The site is run by the talented Bill Cable and features his own weekly comic along with contributions from his devoted staff. Yours truly has several contributions, including some amateur Flash work on the Create-a-Cantina.

DCSWCCDCSWCC
http://www.dcswcc.com
As somebody who spends too time in toy aisles for his age, I've often hypothesized that there was some kind of local conspiracy to prevent me from finding precisely the action figures that I need for my next production. Sometimes conspiracy theories are true after all. The DCSWCC ( the DC Metro Area Star Wars Collector's Club) runs monthly meetings and a yahoo listserv devoted to tracking down and acquiring Star Wars stuff before YOU can get to it. So, if you can't beat them, join them...I did.

YodasNews
http://www.yodasnews.com
A spunky collector's news site with lots of extras including contests, online comics, and lots of pictures on the home page...now featuring a series of one panel comics by entitled Yodasnooze by yours truly.

Chicks
http://www.starwarschicks.com
A website for Star Wars fans of the fairer sex. What is this world coming to, eh? They appear to be heavily interested in charities and breast cancer awareness, as well as all kinds of geeky girl fun.

Scary Crayon Super Raph
Scary Crayon
http://www.scary-crayon.com/
Wes's Scary-Crayon is a humor site (often NC-17) featuring a blog, haiku, comics, reviews, and various other geek culture goodies. It has a definite focus on the Ninja Turtles, but branches out into the whole gamut of toy franchises. Wes was also kind enough to provide a shout-out to our very own Charlie Clone after his review of the Transformatrix Optimus Prime bootleg.

Star Wars Origami. I kid you not.

If you haven't, you are missing out on the funniest thing on the Internet. Ever. Seriously. No, really. At first you might doubt me, but go back a couple of times.

http://www.biteycastle.com
I accidentally stumbled upon this very snazzy site collecting the animation, art, and other creative works by Adam Phillips and became at once enamored and thoroughly jealous with his Brackenwood shorts.

http://www.jmort.com/index.htm
John Mortenson is a freelance illustrator and a fellow Terp with a penchant for drawing G.I.Joe and Star Wars. In fact, he even has a page full of G.I.Joe vs. Star Wars Illustrations that I stumbled upon after posting my comic.

http://iharthdarth.livejournal.com/
This is a very endearing little comic strip that has a unique spin on the Star Wars cast. It follows the emotional development of Darth Vader if he had to raise Luke and Leia. The simplicity of its artistic style is a brilliant testament that it is ultimately the thought that counts. It's also one of those things that I wish I had come up with instead.

SWAPPING THE LINK
The links below were "swapped" with other people managing Star Wars sites as a means of mutually boosting our hit counts.

Master Samos's Star Wars Site

http://www.freewebs.com/plo_koons_apprentice/index.htm
This is home to a weekly web comic whose inaugural edition paid significant homage to Bill Cable's Creature Cantina. The site also promises to feature a Star Wars Character of the Week and a Star Wars Card of the Week. We look forward to good things from this new acolyte to the photo-comic world.

Star Wars Character Cafe
http://www.swcc.bravehost.com/
This site hosts a rather large database of Star Wars "fan-fiction," which surprisingly is fiction written by fans rather than being fiction about fans.
